Understanding Your Air Conditioning Options
Split Systems: Wall-mounted units visible in your room (typically a white box about a meter wide) Consist of an indoor unit and outdoor unit connected by refrigerant pipes Best for cooling single rooms or open-plan spaces up to 65 square meters More affordable upfront installation costs Easier to install in existing homes Perfect for targeting specific areas of your home Controlled via remote or wall-mounted controller.
Ducted Systems: Indoor unit typically installed in roof space with only vents visible Distributes air through ducts and vents throughout your home Ideal for whole-house cooling, especially in larger homes Higher initial installation cost but can be more efficient for cooling multiple rooms Better aesthetic appearance with only ceiling vents visible Can be zoned to cool different areas of your home independently Usually controlled via wall-mounted controller
The best system depends on your specific needs:
Choose Split Systems if:
You need to cool only one or two main living areas You're on a tighter budget You live in a smaller home or apartment You want to target cooling in specific areas You want lower operating costs for cooling just a few rooms
Choose Ducted Systems if:
You want to cool your entire home consistently You have a larger home with multiple rooms You prefer a discreet appearance with no wall units You want the ability to zone different areas You're building a new home or undertaking major renovations
A multi-head split system is a variation of standard split systems where one outdoor unit connects to multiple indoor units. This gives you many of the benefits of having several split systems but requires only one external unit, making it more cost-effective and energy-efficient than installing multiple individual split systems.
Always use qualified professionals for air conditioning installation because: Professional installation ensures warranty coverage, Refrigerant handling requires licensed technicians, Electrical work needs to meet safety standards, Improper installation can lead to inefficiency and premature failure. REQ's certified technicians ensure your system is installed correctly the first time
Very happy with our service with REQ! Definitely will be our go to for future services, they are very honest and transparent emailing photos and a video of the work they had done along with the invoice. Very much appreciated for peace of mind.

Chris and his team at REQ have been absolutely fantastic. We had a full ducted install this week at our Mawson Lakes home. The quality of the work was excellent the guys were friendly they even rang me concerned about our bird 😊he gets free range. They guys cleaned up after themselves you wouldn’t know that they had been. Thank you REQ I will be recommending you to family and friends 😊⭐️⭐️
